We woke up early Wednesday morning to breakfast, then off to the schools.  We stopped at the elementary school first and handed out our candy.  They seemed very happy and many said thank you in English.  We then went over to the middle school where we saw the new sewing machines and they showed off what they had made.  We looked at the computers once again with everyone else.  Richard and I went to the library to check the CPU to see if the new one had charged.  The teacher said the same computer that was giving trouble before was still causing problems.  We tried everything, then Davis came in.  They tried a few more things, then decided to just open it up to see what the problem was.  As we were looking at the seal that would have to be broken in order to look in it (thus voiding the warranty), Davis noticed that the computer was set for 220 volts. Problem solved.   That probably caused the  first CPU to burn up, so we are sending it back to see if they will replace it.  While we were there, the librarian and computer teacher asked to meet with us.  They presented us with their wish list, which I have copied and will send to Bob.

During siesta we learned that there would be no more work in the village.  The water dispersal hole was deep enough and there were no more latrines or floors to be worked on.  There still was painting and sewing, though.  It looked like there were a lot of people in sewing, so I elected to paint.  We painted the elementary school blue.  They had diluted the paint quite a bit, so it needed more than one coat.  We would not be able to finish the job this trip.

We returned home to bathe and get ready for the evening entertainment. Tonight would be talent night.  We met about what the needs were in the village and there were some good comments.  Afterward, we had our talent show.

The vets did a really good spoof on the Wilderness Team. Then Lizzy and Karia did an Adele tune.  Darryl did a stand up routine and Ryan did some mind reading.  Dave Funderburk did stand-up, then Clark sang.  I lost track after that, but we had some real talent this trip.

About lynntclarke

I am an attorney by trade, but love to travel. I am in my "golden" years and decided to blog about some of my trips, mainly to keep a diary of my experiences, so that I can do picture books for my travels and remember what I did each day. When you travel, you tend to forget the day before as you are having such wonderful new experiences. The blog will be there forever, I suppose, but memories fade fast. I hope you learn something worthwhile as you read. If not, then that is okay, too. Enjoy your own travels!!!
